Apple rakes in crazy amounts of money thanks to services (Apple TV+, Apple Music)

Apple is under threat of several lawsuits in the United States and new regulations in the European Union. While this could somewhat impact its revenues in the long term, it is unlikely to slow down its turnover in the short term.

A new analysis from experts at Counterpoint Research confirms this optimism. So, while a drop in demand for iPhones is to be feared, experts are banking on a sure value of the Cupertino company: services.

Apple was right to focus on services

By this term, we must understand a fairly broad vision and in particular Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, but also revenues from the App Store. Counterpoint Research believes that this sector of activity will represent 25% of the company’s turnover by 2025.

In detail, the latter would exceed $100 billion over the year while overall revenues would reach $400 billion. We learn in passing that Apple One, the bundled subscription offer for services, will be the main source of revenue in this area.

Quoted by AppleInsiderJeff Fieldhack, research director at Counterpoint, emphasizes on the subject of legal and regulatory risks:

We know there is a risk, but it is still at an early stage. We therefore do not expect an impact on the monetization of the iPhone installed base, at least not in the medium term.

These predictions are not likely to surprise us. They indeed confirm a trend that we had already observed. In August 2023, we mentioned the fact that Apple services generated 26% of the company’s revenues in the second quarter of 2023, according to its latest official financial results. Apple earned $21.2 billion between April and June of last year thanks to this feat.
