About ten days after its explosive launch on PC and PS5, Black Myth Wukong welcomes its very first big patch. What’s new on the Chinese box?
The first Black Myth Wukong patch after its release is called 1.0.8.14860. Behind such a convoluted name are several adjustments aimed at improving the overall gaming experience. Let’s take a closer look at all of this in the company of the Predestined.
Black Myth Wukong Gets First Update
Since its arrival on August 20 on PC and PS5, Black Myth Wukong has caused a small earthquake in the video game industry. Driven in particular by a Chinese audience wanting to support its studio Game Science, the title has broken surreal records, both on Steam and in terms of its sales. China has also paid the price, with PS5 and PC stock shortages. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the title is however clearly not exempt from bugs or performance issues. A first patch was recently deployed to correct what can be corrected.
In this case, Black Myth Wukong’s 1.0.8.14860 update, weighing in at around 1.6 GB, focuses mainly on bug and crash fixes. While there’s no question of improving performance on a somewhat struggling PS5, the game should now be relatively more stable. In addition to these changes, this patch also reduces the stats of a given boss. You can check out the detailed patch notes below, but beware of the SPOILERS in relation to the boss in question.
Detailed Notes for Update 1.0.8.14860
- Fixed a crash issue during Black Myth Wukong startup or prologue caused by enabling FSR for some players.
- Fixed a crash issue in some areas of the Web Cavern when NVIDIA Full Ray Tracing is enabled.
- Fixed issue regarding abnormal hair stretching.
- Optimization of the hairiness effects of the Yaogouai king “Lingxuzi”
- Fixed an issue where some enemies would freeze in certain situations.
- Slightly reduced the stats of King Yaogouaï “Captain Sage-Voice”.
- Fixed an issue where the attacks of the Lesser Yaogouai “Lantern Guard” in the Pagoda Realm would push Black Myth Wukong players into walls.
- The Predestined is no longer frozen when performing Spinning Thrusts in Thrust Stance.
- Fixed an issue preventing the Predestined from changing stance in the sixth chapter.
- The Predestined’s stats should now display correctly.
- Fixed an issue causing the Yaogouai leader “Daoist Mi” quest icon to appear in the Voyager menu even though the quest had failed.
- Progress for collecting portraits from newspapers should now display normally.
- Fixed some text errors in Chinese.
- Added multiple language translations for portraits and optimized existing translations.
- Added multiple language translations for song titles and lyrics in Music Library and fixed display errors in English lyrics.
- Optimized translations in several languages for talents, equipment and inventory, and fixed some text errors.
- Improved display of subtitles in multiple languages.
- Optimized translation into multiple languages for tips displayed on the loading screen.
Additional Notes for Black Myth Wukong Update 1.0.8.14860
Additionally, we have identified an issue causing the game to crash at launch on PS5 when the system language is set to Turkish. Similarly, on the PC version, setting the language to Turkish may cause occasional crashes during certain boss fights.
If you are experiencing this issue, the temporary solution is to set the console language to English or another language in the PS5 main menu: Settings > System > Language > Console Language. For the PC version, please set the Windows display language to English or another language in the operating system settings: Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region > Windows display language.
