Although it is often described as a Souls-like, Black Myth Wukong actually has a very different structure, with a fairly linear level design. Sun Wukong’s wanderings will probably take you less time than other games of the genre, unless the difficulty is an issue for you.
Just finish the main story in a straight line
Since the game is very linear, going straight is often the only option anyway. That being said, there are a lot of bosses, some of which are quite tough. Not taking detours to search the side areas and kill the optional bosses will make your life difficult. So it will depend on your level of play. There are a total of 6 chapters, each requiring 3 to 6 hours of play to be completed on average. Unless you are really fast and can skip all the cutscenes, generally plan on a little less than thirty hours to finish the game.
Complete the game normally
From our point of view, this is the ideal approach for the majority of players. It is the right compromise allowing you to enjoy the fights and the world, as well as unlock the optional areas with their formidable bosses. We will also assume that you tend to explore the optional areas, and to look for the few secrets of each chapter. Once again, our estimate will vary depending on your level of play, killing the bosses in one or two tries, or spending several hours on each of them is absolutely not comparable.
In these conditions, it is necessary to count between 35 and 45 hours of playapproximately.
Complete Black Myth Wukong 100%
If your goal is to get the Platinum trophy, and discover everything, know that it will not take you much longer than for a normal adventure. There is no need to replay the entire game several times, there are no story branches, nor trophies that can be missed. Black Myth Wukong only has one difficulty mode as a bonus. You will simply have to restart the game in New Game +, and advance a little in it in order to finish collecting the components to craft all the weapons and armor in the game. However, this is not confirmed at the time of writing. If we consider that finishing New Game+ is necessary to complete everything, or for your personal satisfaction, count between 40 and 70 hours of gameplay in total.
