The Elden Ring DLC adds a lot of forge upgrade materials, so you can test out the new weapons. With this guide, discover the location of the Draconic Dark Forge Stones on the map, with hints on the bosses and quests that can give you some.
There are literally dozens of new and interesting weapons in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree that will require Darkforge Stones to upgrade. To unlock the maximum +10 upgrade, you will need an Elder Dragon Darkforge Stone each time. Unlike the lower rank stones that are available in unlimited quantities via Darkforge Miner’s Cinerary Pearls, there are only a very limited number of the maximum rank ones in the game. There are 8 in the base game And 6 more in the DLC.

- The Spectral Flame Dragon north of the Grave Plain will give you the first stone.
- The second Spectral Flame Dragon, north of Rebuke Hold in the Occult Altus region, will give you the second Elder Dragon Dark Forgestone.
- The third stone is obtained from the third Spectral Flame Dragon, on the South Coast, it is also the most powerful of the lot.
- Senessax the Elder Dragon will give you 2 at once, in Jagged Peak.
- The only stone that is not found on a dragon is found right in the Tower of Shadows after it opens: Enir-Ilim. It is picked up from a corpse perched on the edge of the destroyed stairs.
