Diablo IV has been with us for over a year now, and Blizzard never tires of releasing more content for its action RPG. In the past four seasons, we’ve had new classes, systems, items, and enemies to defeat, and this fifth one is going to be no different. Now, in the middle of summer, we’re approaching the arrival of its fifth season, one that’s packed with content and that will put you up against a great threat, the Infernal Hordes.
Let’s review all the changes that the game will bring at the beginning of Augustas well as talking about the length of the season and what won’t disappear from the game once it’s over. The Infernal Hordes are coming with everything to give you reasons to come back to the game.
Infernal Horde System
The highlight of this season is, without a doubt, the one that gives it its name. The Infernal Hordes are an activity in waves of 60 seconds which you can activate either on your own or with friends. With this activity, you can earn Burning Ether, a currency that will allow you to access the infernal loot, with summoning materials, guaranteed superior affix items, and the possibility of getting unique and legendary items. Be careful though, because A hellish variant of the Butcher can appear in the hordes, in addition to the so-called Lords of the Ether, and they will be no small feat.
Between hordes, you’ll have the chance to choose a favor and a punishment to give more variety to the experience (these stack, so you’ll have to choose them well), and at the end you’ll have to fight against the Nefarious Council. While this one has 5 members, 3 will be chosen at random with completely unique skills and synergies for you to face and have a variety of combinations. If you lose, you will have the chance to revive thanks to a limited number of resurrections.
How Burning Aether and Infernal Loot Work
In the Kingdom of Hate, the most precious thing is the burning etherwhich you can get by killing Aetherfiends and Aetherlords, but also by destroying Soul Spires and Aetheric Masses. Enemies will give you 2 Burning Aether (and your pet will help you collect it). It is not lost if you die, but be careful not to lose all your resurrections, because if you lose before finishing the Horde, you will not be able to save your life. You can get your hands on the infernal loot.
By defeating the Dire Council, you will gain access to the Infernal Loot, which contains Maximization Materials, Gold, and Superior Affix Items. There is also a chance to get your hands on the title’s new unique items. To open it, however, you need 20 etheralthough with 60 you will be able to unlock the superior gear loot. The latter will give you a guaranteed superior affix item.
How to access the Infernal Hordes and get Compasses
You will be able to access the Infernal Hordes in both the Seasonal Realm and the Eternal Realm, although for the latter you will have to make a New short quest series in world level III. You will need, however, to get or create or obtain infernal compasseswhich will appear in various endgame content across Sanctuary. These scale with level and cause the Infernal Hordes to escalate in intensity.
The compasses They can be from level 1 to 8and they’ll ask you for Stealth Dust and Forgotten Souls to craft at the Occultist. Obviously, the higher the difficulty, the more monsters and better rewards you’ll encounter, but you’ll also have fewer resurrections available to you. On the other hand, the mysterious and living steel chests, as well as the doomsayers of the Infernal Tides, are guaranteed to get you a compass. In the whisper caches, you have a 75% chance to get them. Finally, in end-game activities, they are guaranteed to appear.
New dungeons, the Infernal Rifts
JanThe Kingdom of the Season You’ll also get new dungeons that serve as a preview of the Infernal Hordes. In them, you’ll encounter one of the events that will come with the Hordes, making you choose an Infernal Offering before fighting the boss that lives there. Here, you’ll also get Burning Aether in quantities that scale with the difficulty you choose. Of course, This will disappear when you exitso you will have to spend it in the chests you will find at the end of the dungeon to take advantage of it.
New unique and legendary items
The new season of Diablo IV puts all the meat on the grill with its new items. With Over 50 new unique and legendary itemsthe most distinctive thing about this new update is that these are here to stay. Once the season is over, you’ll still be able to get them. To get them, you can simply kill enemies in Sanctuary, but there’s a higher chance you’ll find them in Hellish Loot at the end of the Infernal Hordes.
New seasonal and eternal plots
In both the Seasonal Realm and the Eternal Realm, you will have new storylines to unlock. In the Eternal Realm, just by reaching World Level III, you will already have access to the new storyline that Unlock the Infernal Hordes (called “The Eyes of the Enemy”), but in the Seasonal Realm you will first have to do another storyline called “Of Lambs and Wolves” in World Levels I and II.
To start the storyline of “Of Lambs and Wolves”, you will have to go to Zarbinzet and speak to Captain Cireska. On the other hand, once you have finished it (or if you are in the Eternal Realm), You have to visit Hawezar with World Level III and investigate the chaos unleashed among the town’s residents to unlock “The Eyes of the Enemy.” When the season ends, this storyline will not disappear, but will will continue to be part of the Eternal Kingdom.
How to get season progression
In the Season of the Infernal Hordes, you will be able to rjoin progression with stashes by defeating Elite enemies, Champions, Infernals, and Bosses. Blizzard says the best places to find them are, unsurprisingly, Infernal Rifts and Infernal Hordes. Upon completing the season progression, you will earn a shining spark.
It doesn’t end here, though, and the Infernal Hordes are also one of the best ways to increase your reputation and get more stashes during the season. On the other hand, Sanctuary has changed, and this will have consequences on other aspects of the title, such as The Infernal Tidegaining experience or enchantments, in others.
Changes to the Infernal Tide
With the arrival of the new season, the pernicious hearts now have a higher chance of appearing in chests and world bosses. Additionally, defeating Helltide Commanders has become a guaranteed drop. On the other hand, the cost to face the Bloody Lady in world levels I and II it is now lower. Lastly, tortured drones have a price of 75 favilas.
Update to Unique, Mythic Unique, and Legendary Items
With this new season comes updates to all of the unique items in the game. “Our intention is to make the unique items that define builds the best for the skill they complement and for their corresponding affixes to be better suited to the skill they complement.” have optimal values for the slot they occupy. Since unique items cannot be tempered, we wanted them to be able to compete with affixes that can,” Blizzard says, clarifying that what they are looking for is for them to continue to have random values, but that they have pre-established affixes next to the unique trait.
Super Unique items have now been renamed to Mythic Uniques, and when dropped on the ground, They will have a special beam of light. Lastly, the chance to get legendary items now increases beyond level 100 when fighting the Infernal Tide, in Nightmare Dungeons, and also facing Infernal Hordes.
Changes to experience gain, enchanting, and crowd control
The way you level up is also going to change with the arrival of this new season. The base experience bonus for killing higher level enemies has been increased from 10 to 30 levels above what your character has, giving you a greater reward for taking big risks. The bonus from additional experience (not the base) will remain at 15%, but the way the reward you get for taking down powerful enemies will change.
If you were tired of using angel breath for enchantments, now this It is no longer a requirementbut will instead rely on the corresponding salvage material from legendary items. Finally, enemy crowd control effects have been reduced, and you can now also drink potions while they affect you.
The profane mental cages are back, and this time they stack up to 3 times. If you want a real challenge, you can face enemies up to 30 levels higher than you in the Infernal Tide.
