Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is in the same vein as the From Software DLCs, with a much tougher challenge than the base game. While we’ve already shared some tips to make the DLC easier, we’re also going to show you where to get an excellent weapon right at the start of your game, which should help you skim through the game’s long list of bosses.
Where to find the great dragon slayer katana?
You’ll be able to start looking for the Great Katana once you’ve gotten your hands on the first map fragment in Shadow of the Erdtree. This particularly powerful two-handed weapon should be relatively easy to obtain, but expect to have to fight your way through it. In the sepulchral plain, head towards the dragon pit: on the way, you will come across a shadow that will invade you, but you should make short work of it.. Then head into the cavern to defeat the Ancient Dragon Man, a humanoid with a dragon head capable of doing great damage, but whose patterns are quickly foiled. You will recover the blade directly after your victory over the boss, but also an object which should allow you to advance in the quest of the NPC Igon.
Why go get this weapon quickly?
There are about a hundred new weapons in the Elden Ring DLC, some of which have original movesets that you won’t necessarily master right away. By opting for this large katana, you can’t go wrong with this weapon: with its easy-to-print moveset, its phenomenal damage once upgraded (thanks to the dark forge stones) and The ease of acquisition during the very first hours of your adventure is undoubtedly one of the sure values at the start of this DLC.
