There are a total of 45 Manuals to find in the Shadow Realm of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, which is pretty massive. They often allow you to create new items that are more powerful than the ones in the base game, whether it’s pots, protective livers, or projectiles.
Important Manuals
A large part of the players are completely unaware of crafting in Elden Ring, it must be said that enough consumables can be found almost everywhere, and unless you do a challenge run with a dubious build, they are never mandatory. This is no longer quite the case in the DLC, since 3 Furnace Golems are invincible or almost, unless you use Giant Pots by targeting their weak point. By extension, you absolutely need the manuals to craft these special pots.
- Recipe for Large Pots from the Stove : You can find it in the Grave Plain. You have to collect the Potentate’s Manual 2on a corpse west of the stone bridge. This is by far the most important recipe, as it is used to awaken the sleeping Furnace Golem, as well as kill the others.
The other fire pot recipes are much less important, but they are also useful, in order to kill the other Golems with invincible legs. They have the advantage of not requiring special components. You need to find the following manuals:
Great Fire Pot – Great Potentate’s Manual [1] : In the burnt ruins in the middle of the Grave Plains, at the top of the stairs.
Large Volcanic Pot – Grand Potentate’s Manual [13] : In the ruined lava forge. On a corpse upstairs, near a pile of molten rocks.
Moore and the Gathering Cloud
The only textbooks not directly picked up from the ground are the 7 recipes from the Gathering Cloud. They are obtained in talking to the insects about rot peaceful ones linked to Moore. You will need to heal one of them, then come back and talk to him later. As a thank you, Moore will give you the last manual. Attacking these insects will deprive you of their manual, and Moore will come and attack you. The manual is not found on his corpse, in this case.
