Among all the new things that it brings us Dawntrailit’s clear that its story and new classes are the most attractive. The Viper and the Pitcomancer are hilarious, as I already mentioned in my analysis of the Final Fantasy XIV expansion, and if you want to try them, I’ll tell you where and how to unlock them. Don’t worry, because it is very easy to get them.
How to unlock Viper in Final Fantasy XIV
Okay, before we start talking about how to unlock the Viper specifically, let’s clarify the requirements to be able to get it. And to unlock the class, you need the following:
- Have Final Fantasy XIV and Dawntrail registered and activated in your account.
- Have some kind of combat class (either DPS, Tank or Healer) at level 80.
This means that you do not need to have reached the Dawntrail storyline to be a Viper, but you do need to have purchased the expansion. With this in mind, if you want to unlock this profession, you must go to Ul’dah, specifically to the X coordinates: 9.4; y: 9.2very close to the main Aeterita of the city.
There you will see the NPC Suspicious Weaver, who has the mission Enter the Viper ready for you to accept. Talk to her, accept the mission and you will only have to finish it following the instructions of the game to to be able to get Viper. Also, this one will come with level 80 gear for you.
How to unlock Pictomancer in Final Fantasy XIV
Having been released in the same expansion as Viper, Pictomancer’s requirements are exactly the same, though let’s go over them again:
- You need to have the base game and Dawntrail on your account (you will not be able to get these classes if you play with the free trial).
- Have reached level 80 with any of the game’s combat classes (whether DPS, Tank or Healer).
Now this time, instead of going to Ul’dah, you need to visit the city of New Gridania. Once you get there, use the Aetherite to teleport to the Conjurer’s Guild and move north. There (in the X: 8.0; Y:10.2 coordinates of Old Gridania) you will see Cheerles Hearer, who will give you the quest The Joy of Pictomancy.
Again, the procedure is the same as with Viper, you just have to follow the instructions that the game gives you to finish this quest (it will take you about 5 minutes at most) so you can get the Pictomancer. As with the melee DPS, you will receive a basic level 80 equipment to begin your adventures in the game.
