The puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy are not usually very complicated, but there are some that have given many players a headache. One example is the magic chess sets that are scattered throughout some caves. Another, for example, is the one we are dealing with in this guide: the musical puzzle in the mission “Solved by Bell“, which is actually a treasure map.
The “Solved by the Bell” Treasure Map, which gives you the key to solve it, at the end of the “Henrietta Hideout” dungeon in the Poidsear CastleThe side quest “The Hippogriff Indicates the Location” takes you to this location. Loot all the chests at the end of the dungeon to find the Treasure Map.
Once in your possession, Clagmar Castleeliminate all the enemies (including the Infamous Enemy, which counts for the Field Guide) and then head to the bells you see on one of the sides. If you know how to read and interpret a pentagram, this puzzle is done with your eyes closed. If you don’t know, I’ll explain it to you and also give you the solution.
As you can see, the bells on the right are hanging from an iron bar, sitting in the gap between the bars. The bells on the left are held by a thinner metal bar, and are just in front of the iron bars. You should imagine that the bells on the left are the notes ON the lines and the bells on the left are the notes BETWEEN the lines.
Now that you understand how it works, it shouldn’t be complicated. If you still find it difficult or don’t want to rack your brains, the solution is simple. Using the following image as a reference, follow the sequence:
When you finish, you will hear a very familiar melody. Yes, it is the first notes of the Harry Potter main theme. Another little tribute to the book and movie series. Also, a chest will appear on your left. If you’ve gone complete with one of the coolest garments in all of Hogwarts Legacy: the Treasure Hunter’s Long Coat.
