It’s clear that, with the huge amount of bosses in Game Science’s new game, not all of Black Myth: Wunkong’s encounters were going to be of equal difficulty. Among all the first ones you’re going to encounter, the one with the King of the Black Wind This is perhaps the first truly challenging game in the title. Are you having a hard time defeating this opponent? Don’t worry, I’ll tell you how to beat him!
How to beat the Black Wind King in Black Myth Wukong
This fight, as its cinematic already indicates, is going to be tough. The Black Wind King is a formidable adversary for its speed, defense, attack and variety of movements. If you are having a hard time finishing it off, let’s take a look at its attacks and how you can exploit them to your advantage:
- Black wind load: The boss turns into a gust of black wind and charges at you several times. You can’t damage him while he’s in this form, so just dodge.
- Spear Combo: A powerful four-hit combo, usually used after the Black Wind Charge. The final attack slams his fist into the ground, leaving the King at the mercy of your attacks.
- Illusory King: Sometimes the King will jump back and disappear while you are attacking him and reappear where you are to hit you. Stay alert and dodge. After his fourth hit, punish.
- Combo strung: A three-hit combo, two of them spinning, that ends with a straight attack. It’s easy to dodge, and after the last attack, you can attack.
- Spear Throw Combo: The King throws his spear at you while jumping, then picks it up and does a spinning attack and a vertical attack. After the vertical attack, he punishes.
- Basic Combo: three hits, the last one vertical against the ground. Punishes.
- Flamethrower: When the King uses his bottle and drinks, he will shoot fire from his mouth. It is very easy to dodge and punish.
When you start the fight, I advise you to become Guangzhi and do several charged attacks. With that, you can set him on fire, do a good amount of damage right from the start of the fight, and get the fight going without having to use your immobilization spell. If you add to this using the Wandering Specter Right from the start of the encounter, you can take almost half of his health without having done almost anything.
