iOS 17.5 is available: how to install it, on which iPhones and with what new features

That’s it, since last night you can install iOS 17.5, iPadOS 17.5, watchOS 10.5, tvOS 17.5, macOS 14.5 and even HomePodOS 17.5 on your respective devices. All these updates bring several new features detailed there.

Which iPhones can install iOS 17.5?

If you have already installed iOS 17 on your iPhone, it is compatible with iOS 17.5. Indeed, all machines supporting iOS 17 can be updated to iOS 17.7. Same for iPadOS 17.5 and other new OSes.

How to install iOS 17.5?

The procedure for installing iOS/iPadOS 17.5 is not very complex. It is identical to that described in our article explaining how to install iOS 17.

In summary, just open the Settings app, then go to General > Software update. From there, let yourself be guided.

As with every iOS/iPadOS update, we recommend the following: check, before carrying out the update, that your iOS or iPadOS device has enough disk space to allow the new software to be downloaded.

iOS 17.5: very interesting changes to the menu

Just like iOS 17.4, iOS 17.5 brings some important new features, especially for users located in the EU zone. Here are the most notable changes regarding iOS/iPadOS 17.5:

Otherwise, be aware that third-party engines for web browsing applications are now also authorized. As for the smaller new features, let us note the following:

  • Emoji Palestine: the keyboard prediction no longer offers the Palestinian flag when writing Jerusalem
  • 15 security vulnerabilities resolved : some concern WebKit, Locate, Apple Maps, Shortcuts and even Apple Notes
  • Support for the new iPad Pro and Air, and the new Apple Pencil Pro stylus
  • iPhone repair: no need to deactivate the Locate function during a repair, thanks to a new “Repair State” mode
