LayerZero officially outlines eligibility for the upcoming airdrop

LayerZero CEO Bryan Pellegrino officially outlines eligibility for the upcoming airdrop, focusing on genuine and dedicated users.

Pellegrino said this view comes from reviewing the results of the ongoing Sybil purge. Of the initial six million wallets, three million wallets – which have sent fewer than five transactions since their creation – are under consideration.

To combat spam, transactions with a value of less than 1 USD and ‘NFT NFT’ transactions – those identified as having a value of less than 0.00001 ETH on the market or having a lackluster volume throughout their existence – their proportion has been reduced by 80%, although it is calculated, it is only 1/5 of a normal transaction.

Additionally, gas-drop transactions are considered valid for transaction standardization. Standardization of transactions will be done based on protocol fees ensuring a fair assessment of user activity.

Pellegrino said these are best practices regarding the fairest and most efficient distribution for a particular protocol: eliminating spam, eliminating Sybils, and rewarding early and long-term adopters.

The CEO announced yesterday that LayerZero’s final Sybil checklist will be released before the first half of 2024, thus ending the Sybil hunt.
