Max Truffle Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: Where to find this rare ingredient to earn yellow hearts?

Max Truffle is a pretty rare resource in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom if you don’t know where to look! Or at least, you’ll need it quickly if you want to prepare some strategic recipes for your Boss fights.

What are Max truffles used for?

Like all other cooking ingredients with the word “max” in their name, the Max Truffle allows you to add yellow hearts to your initial number of red hearts. In our complete list of recipes, you can use the truffle in any recipe that requires a mushroom. Putting several will allow you to obtain even more yellow hearts. At the beginning of the adventure, the easiest is to make mushroom skewers for example.

Truffle Max

This rare mushroom has a rich scent. It will restore all of your hearts and temporarily increase your maximum number of hearts when used in cooking.

Where to find max truffles easily?

Max Truffles are mostly found in dark places: aim for caves to find one or two on your way like flower bombs. They can be on the ground or attached to the walls. To locate the caves, don’t hesitate to summon the Satori who will then indicate their positions with a blue beam. Note that it is also possible to find truffles in swamps for example. Finally, some traveling merchants can sometimes sell truffles for 6 rupees. Prioritize the caves in the Hyrule Plain region (like the Whistling Cave where a piece of the insulating suit is located) and Necluda. We also found some in the cave in Kakariko Village (1947, -0982, 0158).

Large Max Truffles, on the other hand, are much rarer and are specifically located in caves in the Gerudo and East Necluda regions. For example, there are two to be found in the Gerudo Canyon Mine.

If you have already taken a photo of a truffle and have upgraded your Pru’ha tablet through Faras’ quests, then you can simply set your Detector on this resource to find it easily.
