You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. This phrase has never made more sense than it does now. If you find that you can no longer share screenshots and videos on Twitter from your PlayStation 4 and 5 console, don’t panic because it’s not your fault. Sony announced that today, November 13, 2023, it would be removing this feature. And so it has.
We’ve checked: the option to share content on Twitter from the console no longer exists. The social network has disappeared from both the Share menu and the Settings dedicated to linking accounts. Fortunately, YouTube is still availableThe loss of this feature is going to sting for many players, but there are still two alternatives… although neither is as quick or convenient.
USB method. A less cumbersome but simple option. Transfer all the captures and videos to a USB and then share them from a PC. Simply connect a compatible device, go to the gallery, choose the captures and videos you want and select “Copy to USB drive”. And wait!
App Method. A cumbersome option, but convenient in the long run. You must download the official PlayStation App on your mobile (Android and iOS), log in and connect the device to the console. There’s no mystery: everything is done from the tutorial in the application itself. After this, you can “Upload to PlayStation App” manually or automatically (depending on the console settings) the screenshots and videos you take. It is important to note that only videos of less than 2 or 3 minutes duration are shared.
Once uploaded to the app (it usually takes a few minutes), you can download the content and share it on social networks. Both steps are essentially the same, the only difference is that one requires a USB and PC and the other the Official App and mobile. Luckily, they are not discriminatory options and you can use them both whenever you want. In any case, we have lost the speed when it comes to sharing our adventures.
