Nostalgic for the Xbox? This keyboard/mouse combo is for you

8BitDo has just unveiled its new retro accessories for gamers: a mechanical keyboard and a mouse incorporating the kitsch aesthetic of the first Xbox console released in 2001.

The manufacturer 8bitdo continues to play on the nostalgic fiber of gamers with new retro accessories like the consoles and PCs that made history.

After accessories inspired by the first Nintendo of the name last year, 8Bitdo has teamed up with Microsoft to offer a mechanical keyboard as well as a mouse with the aesthetics of the first Xbox released in 2001.

A transparent mechanical keyboard

If you like green, you will be served. The retro Xbox Edition keyboard from 8BitDo is a mechanical model that features a design inspired by the first Xbox of the name, with its transparent green plastic and arrow keys in the colors of the original controller.

The keyboard integrates Kailh X switches with ABS keycaps, several programmable buttons as well as fully customizable RGB backlighting using the 8BitDo software. There’s even an Xbox button to launch the Windows Game Bar. The manufacturer announces an autonomy of 280 hours with the 2.5 GHz wireless standard and 300 hours with a Bluetooth connection.

The Retro R8 Mouse also features a transparent green design in an ambidextrous design with a fairly classic technical sheet: the PAW 3395 sensor found in particular at Razer, Kailh Sword GM of clicks) and a polling rate that can reach up to 4000 Hz.

Announced autonomy: up to 105 hours depending on the polling rate in 2.4 GHz, 100 hours in Bluetooth. The charging dock is included in the box to regain 100% battery in 2.5 hours.

As usual, these accessories will first be available for pre-orders on the 8BitDo website before being available from European distributors.
