Once Human Multiplayer: How to Play Co-op and Join a Team?

The free game of the moment, Once Human offers a single-player or multiplayer survival adventure, but joining a friend’s game can be tedious. We explain everything you need to know.

How to join a friend on Once Human?

The easiest step here is to add your friend either via their ID (found in the game’s Profile tab) or via their nickname. But to join them, this will require a few prerequisites:

  • Multiplayer and online features are only unlocked after the tutorial, once you’ve beaten the first boss and are dropped into the Fortnite-style open world, suspended in the sky by your raven,
  • From then on, you can meet other people on the map and set up camp wherever you find space. You can access the global chat and add friends,
  • Once your friend is added, you can click on the “+” next to their nickname to send them an invitation to join your team,
  • It worked and now you see his marker on the map! Problem? When you arrive at the same location as him, you don’t see his character.
  • This is normal, as in an mmo, the game offers several instances, here called “world”. You can see the number of your world at the top right of the screen,
  • Go to a teleporter on the map to be able to change worlds as explained in the guide below:

Note : you can have cross-server friends but teaming only works with players from the same server.

Is Once Human crossplay?

The survival game is cross-platform: that is to say, you can download it on several platforms (Steam, Epic, mobile) and find your characters in all places if you use the same account. However, Steam connectivity seems limited at the moment because Steam accounts (people playing directly via Steam and not having created an account on the website) are detached from the other platforms.

As for multiplayer, the game is fully crossplay. So you can play with your friends from any platform as long as you are all on the same server.
