HIS ATTACKS
Earthquake is Gliscor’s most reliable STAB move. It hits common Pokémon such as Predaster, Heatran, Tyranitar, and Magearna for a considerable amount of damage. Sabotage is used to counter earthquake-immune Pokemon such as Landorus-T, Celesteela, and Zapdos. Landing gives Scorvol a reliable form of HP recovery in addition to Care Poison and also helps to manage Hidden Power more easily ICE of Demeteros-T. The last movement, which can be either Provocative’ Or Blade Danceturns Glissor into a very good stallbreaker. Taunt allows Glissor to get past stalls like Melodelfe, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor, while Swords Dance increases Glissor’s attack by two stages and allows it to break through these latter Pokemon more easily.
SET DETAILS
The 244 Ev in point of life increase the bulk General of Scorvol and therefore the amount of care recovered via Poison Care, the 152 in speed allow you to outrun a rigid Zygarde and both forms of Gyarados. The 44 points in defense allow you to take a low blow from Mega Mysdibule, the remaining points in defense special allow Scorvol to be even more tanky and to be able to manage Latios, Démétéros-T or Tokorico
MISCELLANEOUS ADVICE
Avoid assigning Scorvol to any status moves or Sabotage until his Orb toxic doesn’t activate. Take advantage of passive Pokemon that can’t do much to it, such as Clef and Ferrothorn, as this can give Gliscor an opportunity to set up. Knock Off can be spammed in the early game to remove as many items as possible. This gives Gliscor a breathing room to potentially set up a late game play and also supports its teammates.
SYNERGY OPTIONS
Gliscor is effective at offsetting bulky archetypes with Taunt or Swords Dance. As such, it should be paired with Pokemon that aren’t as comfortable with them, such as Mega Lolpin, Volcarolina, and Mega Scizor. Offensive Water/Ice types will stymie Gliscor: Pokemon like Toxapex, Keldeo, Ferrothorn, or Magearna “Battle Jacket” can handle them and make good partners with them. Gliscor has a hard time getting past defensive Air types like Zapdos with Hidden Power ICE, Celesteela, and Skarmory due to their defensive function. Magnezone can trap and take out Celesteela and Skarmory, while strong attackers like Tyranitar and Kyurem-N can come into play and weaken Zapdos. Water types like Toxapex, Keldeo, and Mantine have amazing synergy with Gliscor; Predastery also provides Toxic Spike support to mitigate defensive threats, Keldeo can destroy Pokemon that Gliscor struggles against due to its Calm Mind + Taunt set, and Mantine provides perfect defensive synergy with Gliscor.
