Once again, Black Myth Wukong doesn’t bother to explain anything about the Chapter 4 talisman quest, such as how many there are or what the potential consequences are.
Position of all talismans
Be aware that the Web Cave has several different paths to descend into its depths. To make sure you don’t miss anything, you’ll need to return to the highest point several times before methodically exploring the side paths.
- The very first talisman is found on one of these side paths, before reaching the Centipede boss. You will reach a sort of isolated village in the middle of the cavern, and a cutscene with one of the sisters will automatically trigger as you approach. After she leaves, remove the talisman.
- The second talisman cannot be missed, it is located just before theAltar of the Cliff of Oblivion. After the Centipede boss, and just before the Buddha’s Right Hand boss.
- The third talisman is well hidden. After crossing the makeshift bridge created with the Right Hand of Buddha, go down to the left of the area, in order to cross a huge suspension bridge. An additional suspension bridge awaits you with aggressive cocoons nearby. The best way to cross it without risking falling, is to use invisibility. On the other side, you will find the Altar of the Fallen Loong Relief. The last Loong brother is also in the area, if you have started the quest for Loong Scales.
There is no need to kill him in this case, climb up into the area, in order to return to the upper part of the cavern. You will find the talisman nearby.
The very last talisman is also found near the last altar of the chapter: Temple of Yellow Blossom – Sunny Courtyard. Rather than going to face the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master, turn left, in order to find a courtyard with the pagoda on which there is a talisman.
Reward and consequences
By removing this last talisman, a strange boss will appear, theSupreme Inspector. This is a special boss, shortly after the fight starts, a cutscene will start, and another character will intervene. The boss and the representative of the Celestial Court will then disappear.
Attention : Some players have managed to kill the Supreme Inspector before the cutscene, which causes bugs in the rest of the quest. This will prevent you from getting his rewards later on. Don’t Kill the Supreme Inspector.
Upon completing the chapter, the narrator will mention that you removed the talismans, but it has no impact at this point. The main point of this quest is to add the heron to the codex. You need it for some trophies.
