MySims, the chibi spin-off of The Sims that EA released on Wii and DS, could be returning to Nintendo Switch with a port or a new game, leaked by several stores. It should be released on November 19th, announcement in a Direct soon?
The Sims have been strangely absent throughout the Nintendo Switch generation, even though it has been one of Nintendo’s longest-running consoles. The Sims 4 was released in 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One, the same year that the Switch came out, and Maxis never adapted it to the hybrid console (rumors of its arrival were a mistake).
In fact, Electronic Arts has been one of the major third parties that has supported Nintendo Switch the least, and that’s despite the fact that a game like that would be very well received on a console like Switch, where Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Stardew Valley have been real phenomena.
Interestingly, that could change this year, and before Switch 2 arrives, but not with The Sims 4, but with… MySimsa spin-off that we haven’t seen for more than a decade.
In the last few hours, two video game stores in Europe have published information sheets for a title simply called MySims for Nintendo Switch (the boxart, placeholder, is indeed fan made).
As discovered by user –R on Resetera, the WOG.ch and Vitrex stores have posted listings for this title, only on Switch, and that it would be released on November 19th at the price of 49.99 euros.
Many fans have been surprised because the last MySims game dates back to 2010, but it is not unreasonable that EA wants to recover this brand, with a port of the Wii game, to attract the attention of the more casual (or more nostalgic) Switch audience.
MySims could be back on Nintendo Switch
The first MySims It came out on Wii and DS in 2007, and was a more “chibi” version, more to the Japanese taste (and more like Animal Crossing, of course) of the Sims concept.
Although it had ports for PC, mobile and (xd) Blackberry, MySims was a totally Nintendo thing, with five sequels released until 2010, including the original MySims Kingdom and some party games or kart games.
Could the MySims series be back on Nintendo Switch? If so, we should find out very soon: perhaps in the Nintendo Direct which is rumored for next week (yes, instead of September, some say it would be in August…).
