With all the games, movies, and other series that come out every year, the universe created by George Lucas is growing more and more. The latest addition to this long list is none other than Ubisoft’s open world: Star Wars Outlaws. We explain to you exactly when its story takes place.
What is Star Wars Outlaws about?
In Outlaws, you play as Kay Vess, a young scoundrel who learned early on how to steal and how to sweet-talk anyone who gets in her way. Accompanied by Nix, an adorable creature invented for the game’s assets, she can then rob Imperial outposts while avoiding a price on her head, fulfill contracts for different factions like the Pyke Syndicate, the Hutts or the Scarlet Dawn, or even get on her speeder to speed across the planets Tatooine, Akiva or Kijimi.
In order to make up for it, Kay wants to carry out the biggest heist of the century and will recruit a few crew members on her ship, the Trailblazer. She will notably meet the robot ND-5.
When does Star Wars Outlaws take place in the timeline?
Note that all of the events below revolve around Order 66 and the Battle of Yavin.
- Order 66 (in -19): major event of Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. In The Mandalorian, it is on this date that Baby Yoda is saved by the Jedi Kelleran Beqse. Grogu was already 28 years old at the time.
- Star Wars Fallen Order takes place 5 years after Order 66.
- Star Wars Jedi Survivor takes place 10 years after Order 66.
- The Obi Wan Kenobi series also takes place 10 years after Order 66.
- The Star Wars Rebels series takes place 14 years after Order 66.
- The Battle of Yavin (Year 0): Episode IV – A New Hope
- Episode 6: 4 years after episode 4
- Star Wars Outlaws: Year Between Episode 5 and Episode 6
- The Mandalorian series (year 9): 5 years after episode 6 and 25 years before episode 7 with Rey), so 28 years after Order 66.
- The Boba Fett and Ahsoka series also take place 5 years after episode 6.
So we are right between episode 5 and episode 6, Han Solo has just been cryogenically frozen and is being carefully guarded by Jabba the Hutt.
