Check out our complete guide to Zelda TotK’s The Great Kohga Plans side quest thread. Prepare to venture deep into the earth, searching for abandoned mines owned by that pesky Yiga clan.
The Yiga clan continues to be mistreated in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: after learning their secret technique and infiltrating their training center thanks to the Yiga outfit, let’s see how put an end to the plans of the great Kohgathe leader of the gang of thugs, by completing his side quest.
How to start the side quest The Plans of the Great Kohga
Two ways to find the Yiga clan leader you sent to the bottom of a chasm in Zelda Breath of the Wild:
- Go straight to one of the chasms located at the Plateau du Prélude south of the central plain and follow the statues to its arena. It’s quite dangerous, but if you’ve already wandered around a bit and done a few shrines you should be fine. Just in case, here’s a guide with a crash course on Amalgam to get good weapons quickly. Note that it’s in this area that you’ll meet your first genie statue and their spirit shop.
- Advance a little in the storyline to recover the objective during the main quest: after completing a dungeon and going to get the camera in the first quest of the depths with Faras, Jona will offer you the Temple of the Depths, you can follow the complete walkthrough of this very important quest in the guide below.
How to complete The Plans of the Great Kohga
Once this coward has fled the first time aboard his ninja glider, vYou can chase him into the depths, but quite a journey awaits you.. It is recommended that you have unlocked the map towers to complete this quest quietly. It should also be noted that several Yigas camps are present and each of them will give you energy crystals to increase your battery, as well as unique duplicate plans.
The Plans of the Great Kohga Part 2
- You can complete this quest at the same time as the Zora’s Domain Sidon regional investigation, since it will require diving in the depths of Lanelle to find Chief Yiga. The hole to the underground that interests us is right next to the Jon Sau shrine between Hyrule center and Lanayru.
- Once in the depths, advance to the arena located under the village of the Zora people. Follow the beacon path as shown in the second imagethe last root before the boss should be just below the Moga Uaqa shrine.
- In this arena, the pot-bellied ninja will try to incapacitate you using a boat of his own making… Yeah.
The Plans of the Great Kohga Part 3
- This one is a bit more complicated, since the abyss to find the abandoned mine that interests us is really well hidden.
- In fact, you’ll have to go right under the Piaf village: a cave hidden in the rock that supports the giant perch provides access to this famous entrance into the depths.
- Once you arrive, however, you will fall directly on the Yigas base to flirt with Kohga one last time. Once defeated, he will reveal to you where his idol, the demon king Ganondorf, is hiding.
How to beat the Great Kohga?
- It’s very simple and boring at the same time: for each vehicle summoned, you just need to shoot an arrow at the guy to make him fall, and take advantage of it to chain him copiously.
- The pattern is identical for all encounters and the game even allows itself a little boss recycling for the last one, with a corrupted golem already encountered in the Temple of the Spirit.
- These too easy fights and the Yigas structures without real level design make this quest thread disappointing, nevertheless the construction plans that it gives and the immense amount of soneau energy crystals distributed are worth going to flush out the Yiga.
