Queen of scheming and infiltration, the heroine of Star Wars Outlaws knows how to handle the blaster almost as well as Han Solo. Or at least… She will be able to gain expertise by improving her pistol and her skills as the adventure progresses until she becomes a pro with the trigger. Here’s how to do it and which upgrades we recommend you choose.
How to upgrade your blaster in Star Wars Outlaws?
To upgrade the blaster, you must return to Kay’s ship, the Trailblazer. Then, find the workbench and interact with it to unlock or modify the upgrades as you wish. Note that some highly useful components will be given to you by your companion robot or other NPCs during the main story, but most are purchased from merchants or found during exploration.
Once you have gathered all the materials, you can unlock upgrades for your blaster. Note, however, that you will be forced to choose a specialization for each of the three modules of your weapon:
- Plasma (your blaster’s main shot): choose a light, rapid or heavy mode
- Ion (against shields and robots or to fry circuits): choose between piercing or surge
- Power (useful against heavy enemies like Gamorans or for destroying rocks): choose between beam, explosive and pulse
What are the best blaster upgrades to choose?
Since you can’t overload your blaster with all the upgrades available in the game, you’ll have to choose a gameplay mode that suits you best. Note however that it is possible to switch blaster modes during the adventure (switch from plasma to ion for example) but that for each mode, you can only choose one branch of skills.
- Regarding the Plasma modulewe recommend that you opt for the configuration Fast. This build turns your blaster into an automatic weapon, allowing you to take down enemies by running and gunning. When firing rapidly, the blaster will be inaccurate if you don’t pull enough. To fix this, prioritize the Improved Accuracy upgrade.
- For the ionic modulewe recommend going with the Surge build. This will give you a mini-gunner, perfect for taking down droids. Get the Blast Range upgrade as soon as possible to increase the range of your shots.
- THE Power module Being powerful enough on its own, you can choose whichever setup you want, depending on your playstyle. We recommend the Explosion if you want your shots to have more impact. However, it is the slowest charging mod, so be sure to get the Charge Speed upgrade as soon as you can.
