Deadlock, Valve’s new game that has been around since May, now has an official listing on Steam. However, its description is brief to say the least.
In mid-May of this year, details of what appeared to be Valve’s new game began to leak. Owners of Steamand creators of Half-Life, Dota and Team Fortressthey are betting on a mix between MOBA and third-person multiplayer shooter.
His name is DeadlockWe thought we would see it at Summer Game Fest, but the weeks went by and Valve’s new hit was still ”missing.”
The reality is that, throughout the summer, thousands of select people (as well as streamers and content creators) did not stop playing Deadlock on Steam.
That’s why it’s so curious that the game It has not been officially announced until today, August 26th.launching an official listing on Steam.
That said, Valve has barely released any official information about its new game. We only have a short teaser, a brief text and a logowhich was already leaked months ago.
Deadlock is in development by Valve Corporation, and those who have tried it claim that it is a cross between Overwatch, Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2.
The Deadlock Case
Deadlock is now officially listed on Steam. However, don’t expect to see anything new, as the platform is providing far fewer details than we already know (thanks to leaks).
Valve indicates that ”It’s a multiplayer game in early development”with no release window revealed and no screenshots.
In addition, we also don’t see the main art that has been circulating on social media since May. We are only shown a short teaser and a small conceptual art image.
”Deadlock is in an early stage of development, with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay. Access is currently limited to friend invites through our playtesters.”, it is specified on Steam.
Of course, Don’t expect official game requirements to be revealed either. Therefore, we can say that the Deadlock announcement is just that: a confirmation for show.
When will we know more about Deadlock? This 6v6 hero shooter is in development for PC, and there are doubts about whether we will see it this year or if we will have to wait until 2025. What does seem clear is that, like Team Fortress 2, it will be a free-to-play release.
