New range of Philips monitors
The new range of Philips monitors is made up of the models 27B2G5500, 24B2G5200 and 27B2G5200. As we can deduce from their nomenclature, the models (27B2G5500 and 27B2G5200) have a 27 incheswhile the 24B2G5200 model reaches 24 inches. They incorporate a hook to place the headphones and allow the height, rotation and inclination to be adjusted.
All of them have IPS panel with a viewing angle of 178 degrees vertically and horizontally. Regarding the resolution, we talk about Full HD (1920 x 1080) on models 27B2G5200 and 24B2G5200, models that have a refresh rate up to 100 Hz, so, in addition to working, we can also use it to play with greater fluidity than the usual monitors intended for office applications and limited to 60 Hz. If we are looking for a higher resolution, the Philips model we are looking for It is the 27B2G5500 that has Quad HD resolution (2560×1440).
Energy saving features
The new range of Philips monitors not only includes a large number of power options to save on your electricity bill. Additionally, like many high-end laptops, they include a light sensor which is responsible for measuring the ambient light and adjusting the brightness automatically.
Philips has taken into account the consumption of the monitors when we get up from the chair, even for a few minutes and has incorporated a sensor that detects the presence of the user in front of the computer. When it does not detect any movement, because the person has gotten up, it will automatically turn off the monitor.
According to Philips, the combination of the light sensor and the presence sensor allows save energy consumption what these monitors do by up to 80%. But it’s not all about saving on the electricity bill. Philips incorporates SoftBlue technology to reduce the incidence of blue light in the eyes and is TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe RPF 40 certified.
Regarding connectivity options, these three new models include 2 ports HDMI 2.0a port DisplayPort 1.4a USB HUB with 4 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports (two on each side of the monitor), one Jack to connect headphones and has two speakers of 3W.
Price and availability
Philips plans to launch this new range of low-power monitors in January 2025. Regarding the price, the models with Full HD resolution, 27B2G5500 and 24B2G5200 will hit the market for 290 and 200 euros respectively. The model with QHD resolution will have a price of 230 euros.
