The bomb flower is a fairly rare resource in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom if you don’t know where to look! Or at least, you’ll quickly run out of it by using it all the time as if you were still in Breath of the Wild and could summon it endlessly…
What are flower bombs used for?
Are you tired of break rocks with your mallet that breaks in just a few seconds? The flower bomb, when thrown at a rock pile, will allow it to be destroyed much faster and therefore release the precious minerals that may be hidden there. But the flower bomb is above all a major asset in combat when you need to blow up enemies from a distance: you can attach it to one of your arrows.
And even though this resource has the word “flower” in its name, you unfortunately can’t cook it into an explosive dish that could warm you up in the Hebra region.
Where to find bombs?
And yes, this time, bomb throwing is not part of Link’s powers and you will have to farm to be able to use them. That said, the new skills of the knight dressed in green are frankly not to be thrown away. With Amalgam, you can do much better than a simple bomb! In short, without further ado, here are the places where you can easily find bomb flowers:
- Bomb flowers are mainly hidden in the dark places like the caves and the Depths,
- So when you have illuminated a good part of the chasmsyou should find them regularly,
- Otherwise, there are always some in the caves of Hyrule so stop when you see a cavity or a white rabbit (it always indicates the way to a cave).
The best place to farm bombs is right below the Fort de Guet ! When you go to your survival shelter, complete the side quest “The Voice of the Demon” given by Jérine. The latter hears strange voices behind the wall. Enter the royal secret passage by entering through the hole in front of it. Break the rocks with a stone mallet or a bomb and find the devil statue. He will steal a heart container from you and you can either take it back or trade it for stamina. That’s what this statue is for.
Now, the secret passage is open and you will be able to find a large quantity of bombs (this grows back after several in-game days). Of course, this implies having destroyed the majority of the rock piles blocking the passage. It is also there that you will get a very good armor for the beginning of the adventure:
An alternative to the flower bomb is the time bomb which is a Soneau artifact. You can get them on the Sky Islands by using the gachapon machines. And an even better alternative, if you just want to smash some rock, is the Yunobo’s Oath!
