Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Prelude Sky Island: Everything you shouldn’t miss in the starting area

Before you can truly begin your journey into the vast world of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll have to go through the prelude stage, just like in Zelda Breath of the Wild. It’s even a bit more directive, with a short route to complete which will take you to the different sanctuaries in the area.

The 4 sanctuaries and the Temple of Time

Impossible to miss, since this is the stage of the scenario that you will have to complete at the very beginning of your game. To put you to the test and explain Link’s new powers, Rauru will send you on a little tour of the sanctuaries placed all around the island. Once you have succeeded, you will be offered to take the big jump to reach the surface of the kingdom. However, make sure you have thoroughly explored the area before you leave.

Equipment: Old lined shoes

This third piece of the makeshift outfit from the first hour of play is of capital importance for the first part of your adventure, since it protects from the cold. Once back on the surface, don’t expect to recover the Piaf set before having collected enough rubies, so having protection of this type at this point in the game is a small blessing. Especially since the game will advise you to start by heading towards the Hebra Mountains for your regional investigations.

Sound artifact generator

Every time you land on a celestial island archipelago, this is the first thing you will have to systematically look for and it will also mean that a sanctuary is nearby: generators are always easily accessible by teleportation. Soneau artifacts are very important objects since they are the “mechanical” parts that you will be able to manipulate with Emprise to make crazy vehicles: 4X4 wheels, turbines, gliders… There are over 30 to discover in the capsules, but the one on Prelude Island only contains the basic ones.

Your first sonorous orbs

A little tip, don’t drop the golems on the sky island, even if it’s very tempting. The reason is simple: the resource they all drop acts as currency in the soneaux artifact generators mentioned above. Thanks to these orbs, you can increase your chances of getting a big draw and thus get an impressive number of capsules in one go. This is one of the coins essentials that will serve you throughout the adventure, so you might as well start building up a small stock right from the start.

Your first Korogu

Yes, they are back! And as a bonus, in more evolved forms than in Zelda Breath of the Wild. In addition to the many logic puzzles scattered throughout the environment, right from this famous celestial island, you can also come across traveling Korogu who want to join their friend. To help them, you will most often have to use Emprise and look around you to find the elements necessary to make a means of transport to complete these small objectives: by completing them, you will directly recover 2 korogu nuts!

Your first Sonium ores

A refiner golem is present in one of the caves of the sky island and there are even some ores to break in order to harvest Sonium, another crucial resource for your progression. Be careful not to spend it directly at the refiner’s counter, at least not for the moment, you will quickly see that the mysterious stone, present in large quantities in the depths, has many other uses than simple commerce.

Radiant Flowers

These plants, which are most often found in the Soneaux ruins, are an essential ingredient that goes into the composition of many recipes that will help you advance further during the game. Concretely, by exploring the depths, the enemies that are there will make your hearts cursed and they will become impossible to heal directly. It will therefore be necessary to concoct good little dishes to cure the malus caused by the miasmas of the Hyrule basements and the radiant flowers constitute the best remedy for that.

Boss: Golemax

This boss is on one of the islands that gravitate around the prelude and it can be faced from your first hours of play. However, you will need to have amalgamated weapons if you want to do enough damage to take him down easily. The Golemax will reward you with soneaus artifacts and its heart, with which you can make yourself a powerful weapon to get started.
