While it is possible to ride dragons to obtain valuable resources, you will unfortunately not be able to tame them to register them as mounts at relays. To compensate for this, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom has provided you with a few rare horses that should catch your eye. Here’s how to get them all.
The Golden Horse
Your love of bling-bling will be satisfied with this magnificent horse dressed all in gold. It is by taking one of the Penn Investigationsvia the side quest “In search of truth” that you can come across the handsome hobby horse. To calm him down, you will need at least two endurance gauges, an anti-cold outfit or snow boots to advance more comfortably in the powder. Beware of the terrible ice Griock who guards your future steed.
The Giant Horse
If you prefer grandeur over brilliance, perhaps this very large horse, somewhat resembling Ponyta from Pokémon, will suit you. The place where it hides, in addition to being cute, is filled with useful ingredients for your remedies like Pepper Butterflies and Glagla.
Ganon’s Giant Horse
Already present in Zelda Breath of the Wild, Ganon’s Giant horse makes his big comeback in TotK, but he has moved: from the Gerudo canyon, he has gone to the eastern regions of Necluda. Managing to ride him will not be the only challenge, it will also and above all be necessary to succeed in bringing him back to the nearest relay, that of the mountain pastures south of the great plains of Hyrule. This is a particularly sturdy mountthere’s little chance this bulldozer will die unless you drive it off a cliff.
The Skeleton Horse of the Deep
The Depths are full of secrets and one of them will allow you to tame a terrible beast: a horse of which only the skeleton remains. Is it already the Apocalypse?
Two solutions to speed up your exploration in the depths and the search for the 120 roots that lie dormant in these desolate lands: vehicles, made from soneau artifacts, and these famous skeletal horses. Particularly docile and easy to handle, they cannot be kept permanently, so be sure to use each of these mounts well. By riding them, you can simply avoid all the pools of miasma that proliferate in the area.
The Mountain Bear and the Moose
With your Barbarian Outfit, here is a mount that could suit you much better than these horses so basic in the end. How about riding a bear, a real one? Or a majestic Elk? To do this, go to the mountainous areas and you will come across, with a little luck, one of these two creatures. Nothing definitive however since you won’t be able to bring them back to a relay to save them, rename them or even add a saddle to them.
