Does your antivirus protect you? Here are the best and worst of 2024:

It is true that thanks to heuristic systems and the cloud, all antiviruses share virus signatures to protect you from minute 0, but antivirus engines are not the same. Some security companies are committed to reliability, ensuring they can detect the greatest number of threats and avoid false positives, while others are overly strict about increasing detections at the expense of false positives.

AV-Comparatives is one of the independent companies responsible for testing these security programs to help us figure out which ones protect us best and which ones are the worst. Next, we analyzed the results of the last test in 2024 to determine our Security programs are actually protecting usOh, otherwise it’s no use.

Kaspersky, the best antivirus today

AV-Comparatives tested 16 antiviruses to see whether they achieved their goals. To do this, they test everything in the same environment and load it with a battery of viruses, Trojans and other threats to see how it performs. They analyze how many viruses they detect, how many false positives they encounter, and how many threats they leave in the hands of users.

Out of 16 antiviruses, only one received a perfect score. Kaspersky. It is the only security program that can detect 100% of threats with a total of 0 false positives without any dependence on the user.

Although more antiviruses are capable of detecting 100% of threats, there are still cases of false positives. For example we say: Avast/AVG and F-Secure. Other antiviruses exposed your computer to some degree.

Kaspersky Security Cloud

In addition to these antiviruses, there are also other antiviruses that do not provide 100% protection, but their effectiveness is within acceptable ranges. For example we say: Avira, Bitdefender either one McAfee, Less than 0.5% of threats were missed. norton and Trend Micro It also stays within that range, but the number of false positives is too high. Norton has also put some decisions in the hands of users that shouldn’t be happening at this point.

Worst security program of 2024

The worst antivirus with the worst score in this test is Quick Heal. This is a little-known antivirus that has little chance of growing if this virus persists. Those in charge in India need to pay much more attention to the effectiveness of anti-virus vaccines and their advertising.

TotalAV, ESET, Panda, Total Defense and G-Data miss about 2% of all threats, and some have so high false positive rates that their engines don’t work properly.

And what about popularity? Microsoft Defender? This time, we need to warn you one more time, because it missed 1.2% of computer threats and also left behind several false positives. I think it’s time to change our security program.
