Ikea puts gamers in the spotlight with this new collection of colorful furniture

Brannböll is the name Ikea chose for its new collection of 20 items dedicated to gamers. Exit dark colors, the furniture giant is focusing on bright and shimmering tones. The company also explains that it was inspired by elements of street sports and athletics to design it. Enough to create a fairly atypical style that stands out from what the competition offers.

Originality takes precedence

And there will be something for everyone: chairs, convertible armchairs, shelves… And how can we not mention this incredible desk hidden in a cupboard. In the closed position, the latter resembles a cupboard. As soon as it is opened, it takes the form of a minimalist office which can be a great place for a child or teenager, as rightly explained The Geek Journal.

In a press release, the company specifies in this regard: “Many pieces have multiple functions and are designed to be moved and adapted to different spaces, allowing players to quickly set up an immersive gaming environment and then return to their daily living space effortlessly”.

Philip Dilé, product designer at Ikea Sweden, drives home the point: “With Brannböll, we embrace the idea that gaming is for everyone and has its place anywhere in the home. It’s about simplifying the creation of spaces that accommodate play, life and everything in between”. He adds : “We hope this collection will encourage friends and families to engage together, bringing joy and bonding through shared play experiences.”

Ikea knows how to surprise us

There remains a major question: at what price will this furniture be sold? For the moment, Ikea does not provide any prices, but we can expect quite expensive prices if we refer to other gaming items on the market today. The Brannböll range will be available from September 2024. So you still have a few months to think about which furniture you need most.

Ikea has gotten into the habit of surprising us in places where we don’t expect it. We recently told you about these two new USB-C fast chargers sold at unbeatable prices. The Swedish firm also offers a smart sensor that measures the air quality in a home. It has a very basic design, to say the least, and will display the level of PM2.5 particles and volatile organic compounds (TVOC), without forgetting the indoor temperature and humidity level.
