For several weeks, it has been rumored that Apple is preparing a new Apple Pencil stylus. The Californian firm could announce it this evening, during its “Let Loose” keynote, alongside new iPad Air and iPad Pro.
When it comes to the device’s potential spec sheet, there are 3 takeaways: a new black finish, finger pressure sensitivity, and Find My network compatibility.
As for its little name, doubt still remained until this morning and the discovery, on the Apple website in Japanese version, of the following mention: Apple Pencil Pro. So this is what the new version of the famous stylus marked with the apple should be called.
Remember that Apple unveiled the first Apple Pencil stylus in September 2015, to initially accompany the iPad Pro. A second generation of the product arrived in November 2018, with magnet for holding the iPad, induction charging and touch control.
In 2023, a 2 bis version of the stylus arrived. This is a new USB-C version of the second generation Apple Pencil, the latter initially integrating a Lightning connection.
Meeting tonight to see what this Apple Pencil Pro is all about. Please note that you can follow the conference alongside us via live text monitoring.
