However, seeing how the demand for this type of memory is increasing, many manufacturers, seeing the excess demand, change their production plans and, instead of focusing on manufacturing DDR5 memory, are in charge of manufacturing HBM memory.
This means that there will be a lower availability of DDR5 memory on the market, which is associated with a price increase by manufacturers, a common commercial movement when demand exceeds available stock.
Furthermore, large customers of HBM memorythey are willing to pay more to satisfy their needs, so, as Americans would say, it is a win-win for memory manufacturers.
At the beginning of the year, the analysis firm TrendForce stated that the price of DRAM memories could rise between 3 and 8% throughout 2024. However, the latest report related to the price of this type of memory states that the increase will be between 15 and 20%.
According to this same medium, the demand for HBM memories, especially with the version HBM3E It will reach growth of 200% by 2024 and 400% by 2025.
What more components will increase in price?
