Paradox confirms Life by You release date

Since it was announced in March of last year, Life by You is a game highly anticipated by the communityespecially by those people who, for years, have enjoyed The Sims, but who are already up to the nose a little tired of the fact that the only new additions to the saga, since the launch of The Sims 4 in autumn 2014, have come in the form of paid DLCs. And yes, it is true that in October 2022 they talked about Project Rene for the first time, but we are still waiting for its arrival, with no public date for it to take place.

In said presentation, just over a year ago, Paradox stated that They intended to launch it on the market in September of the same yearin early access, but in July they chose to delay its launch until March 2024. At that time, they also proceeded to refund the payments of the players who had “pre-purchased” it, a fairly decent way of acting, both for preferring to delay it as well as for not having, without their authorization, the money that the players had advanced.

This was not the only delay, since in February of this year (with one month left for the second scheduled date) Paradox reported a second delay, since They considered it necessary to polish a few more aspects of Life by You before its debut. Obviously this was a nuisance for users who are waiting for it, but personally I think they are two excellent decisions, both the one in July of last year and the one in February of this year, and I will explain the reasons later.

It is often said that there are no two without three but, fortunately, this is not going to be true in this case, since Paradox has confirmed that Life by You will arrive on Steam and Epic Games on June 4. In both cases it will do so, yes, and as we already expected, in early access mode, so we must understand that the work has not yet been completed. Paradox considers a period of 12 months, from its launch, to completion, but we must take this period with certain reservations, as it may end up extending longer.

The news of the confirmation of the date is, without a doubt, good news, to which we must add the honesty of launching it in early access. This contrasts, without a doubt, with Paradox’s terrible management, as publisher, of Cities: Skylines II, one of the notorious disappointments of last year and which, even today, continues to be a perfect example of disastrous time management. It was published when it was still very green (and it wasn’t even in early access) and, before solving the problems, they chose to release a DLC that was also very disappointing.

Perhaps it is because Life by You has been both developed and edited by Paradox, but in this case we find the opposite side of the coin, with very adequate time management and much more honest communication, which they seek from the first moment. not disappoint the players. We will have to wait, of course, to confirm whether launching it has already been a success or not, but given the precedents, We can be reasonably optimistic in this case.
