Sonos, one of the leading brands in the speaker market, is about to launch its first over-ear headphones, thus materializing a rumor that has been circulating in the sector for years. His name would be Sonos Aceand, for the first time, images have been leaked that show what its exterior appearance would be.
The aforementioned images are not renders based on leaked information, as is often the case in the sector. In this case it was Schuurman, a partner authorized by Sonos, who has published them by mistake on his website. Therefore, the probability that they will correspond to the final product is quite high.
As expected from the brand, the Sonos Ace have a fairly minimalist appearance. Clean surfaces, materials of apparent quality… An aesthetic that is only interrupted by a series of buttons located on one of the sides. Their functions are a mystery, although, considering the usual trend in the sector, they probably allow you to control parameters such as volume, noise cancellation or power on.
In another of the images published by Schuurman you can see the carrying case, which has a conventional format, unlike that of the AirPods Max. Along with this are also two cables: a USB-C to 3.5mm jack and a USB-C to USB-C. Likewise, in the image there appears a small box whose contents are a mystery.
Regarding the price, the Schuurman website indicated that the cost of the Sonos Ace would be 403.58 euros, a figure that would place them in the same range as Sony’s WH-1000XM5, but below the AirPods Max. The question, however, is whether they will be better or worse than these two models, currently considered benchmarks in the sector.
When will the Sonos Ace go on sale?
The release date of the Sonos Ace is, for the moment, a mystery. However, the appearance on Schuurman’s website and the launch of the new version of the application – which seems to prepare the ground – suggest that It wouldn’t be too far away..
These headphones, once they arrive, will have to face, of course, the AirPods Max, but also the Sony WH-1000XM6, whose launch, according to the brand’s usual cycle, should occur at some point this year. To a lesser extent, it will also have to compete with proposals from Bose, Bowers & Wilkins or Sennheiser, among others.
