The new iPad Pro won’t be the only Apple device to include an M4 chip. This has been stated by Mark Gurman, from Bloomberg, in a post on X (Twitter) in relation to the launch of the M4 chip available in the new iPad Pro. The journalist, who usually reveals information about Apple with a high success rate, assures that the company plans to launch a new mac minia renewed iMac and new MacBook Pro with M4 chip ends of this same year.
It is not clear, however, what exact processor the different models will include. It is likely that both the Mac mini and the iMac will be updated with the same processor included in the iPad Pro announced just a few days ago, while the MacBook Pro could arrive with a slightly more powerful M4 Pro chip. In any case, It wouldn’t be strange to see a MacBook Pro with a standard M4. In fact, Apple offers an option with an M3 chip for current laptops with the Pro surname.
What about the rest of Apple’s Macs? Gurman says the company could update the MacBook Air with an M4 chip in spring 2025. It makes sense considering that Apple just announced new MacBook Airs with M3 processors. It will not be until the end of 2025 when we see new Mac Pro and Mac Studio with M4 Pro and M4 Ultra chips.
The list, therefore, would be as follows.
